HR - How To Designate Mentors and Assign Mentees

Workplace mentoring is a learning partnership between members of staff for the purpose of sharing knowledge about position duties, task, and other valuable information about the organization.  A member of staff can be designated as a mentor or mentee in Infor.  Before a mentor of staff can be assigned to a member of staff, the staff member must be designated as a mentor in Infor.   Follow the guidelines in this article to learn how to designate the role of Mentor and assign Mentees in Infor.

Designate a Mentor(s)


1. Click the check box beside the member(s) of staff that you want to Designate as Mentor.  


2. Click Designate as Mentor.



NOTE: The value in the "Is A Mentor" field changes from No to Yes.  


Assign Mentor(s) to Mentee

3. Click the Check Box beside the name of the mentor(s) that you want to assign to the mentee.

3. Click Assign Mentee. 

4. Click on the magnifier icon in the Mentee* field.


NOTE: The system displays a message "Action will run against 3 selected records".

The selected records belong to the staff members selected to mentor the mentee. The action that will run will assign the mentors to the mentee.


5. Click in the magnifier icon in the Assign Mentee field.





6. Click on the row that list the staff member that you wish to assign as Mentee.  

NOTE: The person being mentored is referenced as the Mentee.

If the name of the person does not appear in the grid, you may search for the mentee by name or employee id.

7.  The system populates the Staff Member's Employment ID in the Assign Mentee field.   

   

8. Click Submit.


10.  Employee 300718, 300719, and 300720 are now assigned as Mentors for Jane Affiliate, Employee ID 300722.
