WFM - Exempt Extra Shift

Mar-22nd, 2023 8:01 59 0

Exempt extra shift is normally handled by scheduling an extra shift where they will be working. A premium value must be set on the shift to pay above the FTE of the person.  Then the staff will need to clock in only for those extra hours. If the shift is not there or the clocks are not there, the hours will not pay.

  • The shift Premium value of Extra Shift will pay only the base rate for the person.
  • A shift Premium with a Tier will pay the Tier in addition to the base rate for the person.
  • There are a few title that pay a flat rate premium instead of base.

You can use the Ad Hoc shift option to set any time duration of shift needed, but no shift label will show on the schedule.  Only the times will show.

If your staff member is going to work an extra shift in a different unit, we strongly recommend you coordinate with the other unit to do the scheduling.  If you put the shift on their home team, the coverage numbers for the real worked team will be wrong.  Contact [email protected] if the extra team needs to be added to the employee to allow cross team scheduling.
