Future dated PTO is held in a PTO-PEND placeholder time code until the date arrives. Once that day passes and is calculated, the actual PTO time code will be applied on the timesheet. Then the system checks the available balance on the day to cover it. Any PTO not covered by the balance is applied as LVU leave unpaid.
On the last day of the pay period, the system will check all worked, PTO and EIB hours against the FTE for the period, not the week. If the non-exempt person is short worked time compared to the FTE, the system will apply PTO to true them up. Overtime and call back count toward worked hours for this calculation. So true up will only cover truly unpaid time.
